Transition...

Once again, I'm in between jobs. Seems like I don't like staying at the same place for too long. My last day at Norwest was this past Monday. Tseten and Cosmin took me out for a farewell lunch. The past three jobs, the only thing that really kept me going was the people. A job can really suck but if you work with a few decent people, it's bareable. On Tuesday I went skiing for the first time in 8 years. I only wiped out once the entire day. But I slid like halfway down the hill and one ski stayed on and the other came off, so I had to go up and get the other. Then it took like 10 minutes to get them back on cause I was on a slant. Good times. Spent the rest of the week watching x-files, playing gamecube, and bottling wine (update coming soon). Tomorrow I begin my first 12-hr shift at Canbra.

Slow Down...

When I lived in Thailand it would sometimes take an hour to drive a couple kilometers and I didn't care. Now I'm always racing around as if I had something better to do. But I don't. After 3 speeding tickets and about $400 later, maybe its time to slow down?

Slow down, you move too fast.
You got to make the morning last.
Just kicking down the cobble stones.
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy.

Hello lamppost,
What cha knowing?
I've come to watch your flowers growing.
Ain't cha got no rhymes for me?
Doot-in' doo-doo,
Feelin' groovy.

Got no deeds to do,
No promises to keep.
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep.
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me.
Life, I love you,
All is groovy.

Canbra Foods...

I was offered a job this morning at Canbra Foods. I'll be a lab technician doing quality assurance. I start on the 22nd and finish up at Norwest on the 15th. Here's some info on the company from their website:

"Headquartered in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, with a local staff of over 240, Canbra Foods Ltd. is a 100% Canadian, wholly owned subsidiary of James Richardson International. As one of Canada's oldest and largest fully integrated oilseed/crushing/refining/processing/packaging operations, Canbra Foods Ltd. was the first company in the world to market canola oil, and has many years of specialized experience in the production of canola-based products. From seed crushing and oil extraction to refinement, processing and packaging, Canbra Foods takes canola from the field and transforms it into a wide array of products, including cooking and salad oils, margarines, and value-added, specialty feed ingredients. Annually, we process over 400,000 metric tonnes of canola produced throughout Western Canada and the Northern US states, and our finished products are packaged and shipped to retailers and distributors across Canada, the USA and around the globe."
