Wedding...

Yesterday I went to Jordan and Erin's wedding. Congratulation! I had been looking forward to the wedding all summer long. I hadn't talked or emailed at all with either of them so it was exciting to see Jordan come in with his groomsmen and then see Erin come in with her beautiful dress. I also had the chance to catch up with 4 other teachers I taught with (Melisa, Karen, Carmen, Karie) as well as 6 other teachers who had taught at GES before me. The reception was great and I had a lot of laughs. The slideshow had a lot of pics and video from Thailand which made me a little emotional. Being around people I had lived with for 11 months was pretty fun, but after I left I felt kinda gloomy cause I didn't know when I'd see them again. But anyways, I just wanted to congratulate Erin and Jordan, they make such an awesome couple!

Walk in the Fog...

It's 4:20 am and I just got back from a walk. After watching my nightly episode of X-files, things seemed kinda blurry through my tiny basement window. Upon further investigation, I noted that my neighborhood was smothered in a shroud of fog. This doesn't happen often, so I grabbed a coat, threw on some sandals, and headed down my dark, deserted alley. The fog limited my vision to a blurry half-block. Any streetlight further than a half-block was a bright orb suspended in the air. I wondered aimlessly to safeway. The few cars than came by were heard before they were seen. I almost got lost trying to find the paved pathway that would provide me a shortcut through the park. I dodged the sprinklers and the only thing that got wet were my socks from the damp, dewy grass. I went home, grabbed my camera, and repeated my route. This time the city sprinklers had altered their path and in the pitch dark I could only hear them get nearer in their endless revolutions. My initial hesitation before my sprint to freedom was long enough for me to avoid being missed. I enjoyed the silence. I enjoyed the solitude.

You Learn...

My experiment with customer service is nearing its finale. I like the technical aspect but not the customer aspect. If I have to spend 50 minutes teaching a nice old lady how check her email that's fine, I don't care about stupid average handle times. But when I have to sit there listening to people bitch and complain and tell me I shouldn't be working for an evil monopoly it gets a little tiring. (Well Mr. So-and-so, if we all quit working for this evil monopoly you'll have noone to phone when you have a problem so maybe you should shut up). When I'm gone I hope the person that replaces me tells these people where to go. So I've put in my two-weeks' notice two days ago. In two weeks I'll be starting my new job at Norwest Labs. At Norwest they perform tests on agricultural samples such as crops, soil, water, manure etc. I saw an add on Monday, called in on Tuesday, and went in on Wednesday to drop off my resume. 10 minutes after returning to my house I was called and offered a job. It's full-time until December at which point the slow season kicks in and they may have to lay some people off. And it pays more than Convergys. So I'm looking forward to the switch. Its very hard to resist the urge to "get sick" tomorrow and have a 3 day weekend. Anyways, Convergys was an interesting experience and I learned a lot. I've been listening to a lot of Alanis Morisette and really like the following song.
